Dems Defeated in Congress As Usual

The Demise of Britain, we will be next. Our nation is heading the way of Yugoslavia with the various ethnics not melting as the Europeens did. We too will one day split up and we have brought it on ourselves. I fortunately will not be around to see it but mourn nonetheless.

Mohammed now second most popular boys' name in Britain Last updated at 12:37pm on 20.12.07
Britain's rising immigrant population has bumped the Muslim name Mohammed into second place in the latest list of most popular boys' names (file picture)
For the last 13 years Jack has been the most popular boys' name in the land.
But in multicultural Britain children named after the Muslim prophet Mohammed come a close second.
In a reflection of the increasing influence of Islam, figures released yesterday showed the most popular spelling of the name - Mohammed - had climbed five places to 17th in the annual list of top baby names.
However, when the seven other spellings of the name are taken into account, the total comes to 6,347 babies, making it the second most popular name of the year - up from 5,936 last year.
Although Jack topped the list with 6,772 babies, that figure fell 156 on last year, meaning if the trends were repeated next year, Mohammed and its variant spellings would be the most popular choice in England and Wales.
The other spellings are Muhammad, Mohammad, Muhammed, Mohamed, Mohamad, Muhamed and Mohammod

Hopes Dim for U.N. Solution for Kosovo

By WARREN HOGE
Published: December 20, 2007
UNITED NATIONS — The Security Council signaled Wednesday that it would not be able to resolve the status of Kosovo, the breakaway Serbian province, and that a solution would have to come from outside the United Nation
Endgame in Kosovo
Kosovo Struggles to Forge an Identity (December 17, 2007)
John Sawers, the British ambassador, emerged from a closed Council meeting to say that what he had heard inside from Vojislav Kostunica, the Serbian prime minister, and Fatmir Sejdiu, the president of Kosovo, “underlined just how enormous the gulf is between the two parties.”
Zalmay Khalilzad, the American ambassador, said that the two had “irreconcilable differences” and that the time had come to proceed with granting Kosovo the independence it has sought but Serbia has resisted.
“The continuation of the status quo poses not only a threat to peace and stability in Kosovo but also to the region and in Europe,” Mr. Khalilzad said.

Will this be say Michigan which has a large Muslim population wanted it's own nation or Texas, New Mexico and California become a seperate nation calle perhaps NEW MEXICO? It can and will happen here!

Democrats Defeated ON War Funding
Key Setbacks Dim Luster of Democrats' Year
By Jonathan Weisman and Paul KaneWashington Post Staff Writers Thursday, December 20, 2007;
The first Democratic-led Congress in a dozen years limped out of Washington last night with a lengthy list of accomplishments, from the first increase in fuel-efficiency standards in a generation to the first minimum-wage hike in a decade.
But Democrats' failure to address the central issues that swept them to power left even the most partisan of them dissatisfied and Congress mired at a historic low in public esteem.
Handed control of Congress last year after making promises to end the war in Iraq, restore fiscal discipline in Washington and check President Bush's powers, Democrats instead closed the first session of the 110th Congress yesterday with House votes that sent Bush $70 billion in war funding, with no strings attached, and a $50 billion alternative-minimum-tax measure that shattered their pledge not to add to the federal budget deficit.

TPMtv: How We See It
We're right on the edge of the Christmas holiday. And it's jarring to think how rapidly we'll hit the first two contests -- Iowa on Jan. 3rd and New Hampshire Jan. 8th. Depending on how things play out one or possibly both nomination battles could be effectivly over on January 9th. With all that in mind, in today's episode of TPMtv, we're taking an overview of both races today to give you our best read on who the likely winners are, the key developments to look for and just basically what the hell's going to happen ...

Well I think it is nuts to select a candidate for president with these primaries. You think ifts right that two small states Vermont and Iowa determine who gets the nod.We need a primary day one day all primaries Republican and Democrat every one gets to vote on that day. Just those who a are registered in one party or the other. Independents could not vote for Dems or Repubs just the candidates for the independent party. In many states today anyone can vote in the primary who is a registered voter but can vote in in any party. Independents could determine who is the nominee in either party. Shouldn't be.
